Rapper Nelly is set to take the stage on President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration day. The event, known as the Liberty Ball, marks a pivotal moment for the country with people from all backgrounds coming together. This year’s inaugural balls will also include performances by Carrie Underwood and Lee Greenwood.
Nelly, who won three Grammy awards, is best known for his 2000 song “Country Grammar.” In the lyrics, he mentions Trump as one of his friends, alongside Bill Gates. Despite being arrested in August last year on drug possession charges, Nelly did not face any charges.
Nelly will join a lineup of artists performing at Trump’s inauguration event. The Liberty Ball is just one of three official events planned for the day.
