Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met US President Donald Trump in Washington on Sunday to discuss a fragile three-stage cease-fire deal in Gaza. The talks, scheduled for Tuesday, will mark Trump’s first meeting with a foreign leader since his return to the White House. Netanyahu described their personal friendship as strong and emphasized that the discussions were a “testimony to our relationship”. The Israeli leader’s office announced negotiations on the next phase of the cease-fire will begin on Monday when he meets Steve Witkoff, Trump’s Middle East envoy.
