Netflix has renewed “Wednesday” for its third season, ahead of the second season’s premiere. The supernatural comedy series, starring Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, is set to return on August 6 and September 3, with the actress reprising her role as the darkly funny Addams girl.
The show follows Wednesday after she is expelled from school for a prank gone wrong, and then attends a private academy for outcasts. The series boasts an impressive cast, including Gwendoline Christie, Christina Ricci, Steve Buscemi, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
“Wednesday” became a massive hit after its first season, earning four Emmy awards. In the upcoming second season, Wednesday returns to Nevermore Academy, where she must face off against a new tormentor to prevent her werewolf roommate Enid’s death.
Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, based on Charles Addams’ characters, “Wednesday” is an adaptation of the classic franchise. The show will continue its dark and quirky theme in Season 3, exploring more secrets and sinister events at Nevermore Academy.
