Netflix Star Kim Sae-ron Dies by Suicide at 24

Kim Sae-ron, a 24-year-old South Korean actress and former Netflix star, has died by suicide according to multiple reports. The body was found in her home in Seongsu-dong, eastern Seoul, on Sunday, February 16.

Known for her childhood roles in films like “A Brand New Life” and “The Man from Nowhere,” Kim made a comeback with the drama series “Mirror of the Witch” in 2016. However, she faced backlash after being caught driving under the influence of alcohol in May 2022.

Despite efforts to revive her acting career, Kim’s final work was Netflix’s action series “Bloodhounds,” which hit the streamer in June 2023. The project marked a turning point in her life, with much of her screen time edited out due to the controversy surrounding her 2022 accident.

The authorities have confirmed they are investigating the circumstances of her death and found no signs of foul play so far. The police had initially declined to comment on the matter but later stated that Kim’s death was handled as a suicide.
