Netflix has confirmed that its adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman will condense the author’s 10 graphic novels into two seasons. Showrunner Allan Heinberg claims this was always part of the plan and not a reaction to the sexual assault allegations against Gaiman. The final 12 episodes reveal multiple storylines from across several books, including the spinoff Death: The High Cost of Living. Season 2 will be released in three blocks, starting with Volume 1 on July 1, which focuses on Lucifer’s plots and introduces more Endless characters as Dream navigates his family dynamics and makes amends for past wrongs.
