Nickelodeon’s Avatar Studios has announced a new series set after the events of Avatar Korra, further expanding the beloved franchise. The upcoming show, titled “Avatar: Seven Havens,” follows a young Earthbender who becomes the new Avatar in a world devastated by catastrophe.
According to the synopsis, the series is set after Korra’s actions have altered the world, creating chaos and making the Avatar title synonymous with destruction rather than salvation. The protagonist must navigate her newfound powers while being hunted by enemies from both human and spirit realms. Her long-lost twin sibling joins her on a quest to uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens.
The series has been picked up for 26 episodes, divided into two seasons of 13 episodes each. Creator duo Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are behind the project, which marks the first series announced by Avatar Studios. The team, who originally left Netflix’s adaptation of their work, aims to bring a new era of fantasy, mystery, and characters to fans.
“When we created the original series, we never imagined we’d still be expanding the world decades later,” DiMartino and Konietzko said in a joint statement. “This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of epic and emotional adventures.”
