Electronic Arts (EA) has confirmed that its next Battlefield game will release between April 1, 2025 and March 31, 2026. The information was revealed in the company’s latest earnings report, which also warned of a worse-than-expected performance for the most recent quarter.
The news comes after EA shared details about Battlefield Labs, a testing program aimed at gathering feedback from thousands of players before the full game is released. The first test will begin in the “coming weeks” and focus on gameplay loops and map layouts. Players who participate in the tests will not be able to share information about the game publicly.
EA has also confirmed that the game is currently in a pre-alpha state, with some brief gameplay glimpses available online. The development of the next Battlefield game is being handled by Battlefield Studios, a new banner that includes multiple studios, including DICE and Motive.
The exact release date for the full game is still unknown, but it’s expected to precede the launch of Battlefield Labs, which will allow players to sign up for access to the testing program. The goal of the game is to improve the player experience and reduce controversy surrounding its traditional class system and max player count.
