New Glenn Launches First National Security Mission NG-1

Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket is set to launch from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, marking the first time it will launch from this site. The mission, named NG-1, will carry the Blue Ring Pathfinder payload and receive its first National Security Space Launch certification.

The rocket’s flight profile begins with liftoff from Launch Complex 36, followed by separation of the first stage, which autonomously descends to a landing platform in the Atlantic Ocean. The second stage then propels itself into space using two BE-3Us engines, accompanied by the Blue Ring Pathfinder payload. After reaching medium Earth orbit (MEO), the payload will remain attached to the second stage throughout the mission.

The launch is expected to be visible from certain locations in the region, providing a unique opportunity for spectators to witness the New Glenn rocket’s maiden voyage.
