New iPhones Can Run iOS 26, But Some Models Are Left Behind

Apple has confirmed that its latest iOS 26 operating system will be released this fall, bringing several new features powered by Apple’s AI technology. However, not all iPhone models are compatible with the update.

The latest iOS 26 version includes security upgrades and new features such as call screening and advanced fingerprinting protection in Safari. Nevertheless, some iPhone models, including older devices like the iPhone X and XS series, will not receive the update due to hardware limitations.

According to Apple’s list of compatible iPhones, which can run iOS 26, newer models from the 16 series, 15 series, and 14 series are supported. These include various iPhone Pro and Pro Max variants, as well as other premium devices like the iPhone SE (2nd generation).

On the other hand, vintage and obsolete devices like the iPhone X, XS, XR, and XS Max will not be compatible with iOS 26.

To ensure security, Apple advises users to upgrade their devices or consider replacing them in the near future. With the new release of iOS 26, users can expect improved security features, faster performance, and better user experience.
