A truck rammed into a crowd in New Orleans on New Year’s Day, claiming at least 15 lives and injuring over 40 individuals. The suspect, 42-year-old Shamsud-Din Jabbar, is believed to have made several eerie recordings prior to the attack.
According to sources close to the probe, these recordings reveal Jabbar’s sinister plot. He discussed his divorce, originally planned a “celebration” with his family, but later declared allegiance to ISIS and shared his life perspectives.
Jabbar, a former U.S. Army serviceman, allegedly drove a pickup flaunting the Islamic State flag and was able to evade police before plowing into party-goers. The FBI has announced that it is treating the attack as a terrorist act, stating they do not believe the driver acted alone.
investigators found firearms, an improvised explosive device, and other devices in Jabbar’s vehicle, along with scattered devices around the French Quarter. The incident transformed the usually lively Bourbon Street into a scene of chaos, with injured victims and bloodied bodies.
