New Pokémon Game Modes and World Championships Announced

The Pokémon community has been abuzz with recent announcements regarding upcoming events and games. Here are the highlights:
Pokémon Legends: Z-A, a new game coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch systems on October 16, introduces Link and Ranked Battles. In these battles, Trainers can compete online against players worldwide to earn points and rise through ranks.
The highest rank is Rank A, and rewards will vary by season, requiring active participation to climb the ranks and earn in-game prizes.
Additionally, Pokémon Legends: Z-A allows for private battles with friends using local communication or online connections.
Another notable announcement is the transition of the Pokémon World Championships to Pokémon Champions in 2026. This new game series will feature single and double battles on Nintendo Switch 2, Switch, and mobile devices.

In this upcoming game, certain Trainers’ Pokémon can undergo Mega Evolution, including the newly introduced Mega Dragonite.
