New Psychedelic Drug Shows Rapid Relief from Depression

Researchers found a single dose of intravenous dimethyltryptamine (DMT) significantly reduced symptoms of depression within weeks. DMT has a short half-life, making it more practical for clinical settings than traditional psychedelics. The study included 34 patients with moderate-to-severe depression who didn’t respond to other treatments. After one dose, participants showed rapid improvement that lasted up to three months. While more research is needed, this breakthrough offers hope for new treatment options for people struggling with depression.
