Nintendo is set to release a new “Super Smash Bros.” game for the upcoming Switch 2 console, with a leak revealing several new characters joining the popular arcade-style fighting game. The leak suggests that the new game will debut with the entire roster of “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate,” despite creator Masahiro Sakurai’s wishes.
According to the leak, characters like Toon Zelda, Waluigi, and Mio from “Xenoblade Chronicles” series, Sol Badguy from Guilty Gear, and Armorouge and Ceruledge from “Pokemon Scarlet and Violet” are expected to join the game. A Paper Mario exclusive character will also be available as a “day one” bonus.
The new game is set to feature character overhauls and changes for iconic characters like Link, Samus, Cloud, Ganondorf, Ryu, and Ken. Nintendo plans to release the game by summer 2026.
This latest leak comes after the reveal of the Switch 2 console itself, which has been met with excitement from fans. With the new “Super Smash Bros.” title set to join the lineup, gamers are eagerly anticipating what other first-party games Nintendo will release for its next console.
