NFL Agent Jeff Sperbeck Dies After Falling Off John Elway’s Golf Cart

John Elway, the legendary Hall of Fame quarterback and former Denver Broncos player, is mourning the loss of his long-time friend, agent, and business partner, Jeff Sperbeck. Sperbeck, 62, died on Wednesday four days after falling from a golf cart allegedly driven by Elway in a private golf community in La Quinta, California.

According to TMZ, Sperbeck fell from the back of the golf cart on Saturday night while riding with Elway in the Madison Club community. He was breathing but unconscious when paramedics arrived and was taken to a Palm Springs medical center, where he was put on life support.

Elway’s publicist released a statement expressing his “profound sadness” over Sperbeck’s death, saying that there were no words to describe the depth of his loss. Elway also paid tribute to Sperbeck’s loyalty and friendship, calling him a “wonderful father, husband, brother, son, and friend.”

Sperbeck had represented over 100 NFL players during his 30-year career as an agent and business advisor, including Elway. The two men founded the 7Cellars winery together, with Sperbeck serving as the chief executive.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office is investigating Sperbeck’s death and has promised to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his fatal fall.
