In a Facebook post on Saturday, August 2, Kelce announced Maguire’s passing at the age of 74, describing her as his “beloved friend”. The obituary notes that Maguire was a former elementary school teacher who grew an unexpected love for football and shared many adventures with Kelce and their loyal dog Butch. Maguire is survived by her three children, six grandchildren, and siblings.
Kelce previously married Donna Kelce, Travis and Jason’s mother, but they are described as “friends to this day”. In a 2023 appearance on his sons’ podcast, Donna noted that their family dynamic works well due to the mutual support of her sons. Ed Kelce also shared an amusing story about Maguire jokingly warning Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, who was posing for a photo with him soon after they met.
