The NFL imposed fines on Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich and his son after a prank call was made during the draft. The call, which targeted now-Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders, resulted in a $250,000 fine for the team and an additional $100,000 penalty for Ulbrich’s son.
Additionally, several other players received prank calls, including Browns’ Mason Graham, Colts’ Tyler Warren, Eagles’ Kyle McCord, and Bills’ Chase Lundt.
New York Giants rookie Abdul Carter also got a prank call during the draft, which was reportedly made by someone claiming to be from the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Giants eventually selected Carter with their No. 3 pick after the Jaguars had been allocated the No. 2 spot in a trade.
The NFL is investigating other prank calls, but said they are unrelated to the Sanders incident.
