Houston Texans safety Jimmy Ward remains behind bars as of Thursday morning after being accused of assaulting his fiancée, according to Montgomery County deputies. The 33-year-old was arrested at his home in Magnolia, Texas, on Thursday at around 4:30 a.m.
Ward’s fiancée reported that she had been strangled and threatened by him during the incident. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said the victim filed an Emergency Protective Order to ensure her immediate safety and provide ongoing protection.
The Houston Texans have released a statement saying they are aware of the report involving Ward, but have no further comment at this time. Ward signed with the team in 2023 and is under contract through the upcoming season.
