NFL Scouting Combine: Abdul Carter Confidently Asserts He’s No. 1 Pick

Abdul Carter, a 6-foot-3 Penn State defender, made his words clear at the NFL Scouting Combine: he believes he’s the best player in the country and deserves to be selected No. 1 overall by the Tennessee Titans. Carter, who won’t work out at the combine due to a late-season shoulder injury, plans to showcase his skills at Penn State’s pro day on March 28.

Carter has modeled his game after Micah Parsons, and he feels he can be just as dominant a defender in the NFL. He believes his “ghost rush” maneuver is his go-to move, but pass rushing is his true superpower. Carter, however, acknowledges that his lack of elite size might pose a challenge.

Despite this, Carter has always been confident in his abilities and is not married to playing just one spot defensively. He’s open to whatever plan a team has for him and wants to earn the opportunity to join them. For now, he’s aiming high: becoming the first overall pick in the draft.
