NFL Star A.J. Brown Finds Solace in Book on Mental Toughness

National Football League star wide receiver A.J. Brown took a break from the game on Sunday evening to study a book during the Philadelphia Eagles’ playoff match against the Green Bay Packers. The book, “Inner Excellence: Train Your Mind for Extraordinary Performance and the Best Possible Life,” was written by former professional baseball player Jim Murphy.

Brown, one of the Eagles’ top players, sat down on the sideline bench to read the book, which has become a favorite among athletes in need of mental toughness training. In an interview after the game, Brown credited the book for helping him refocus and stay confident despite struggling with his performance.

Murphy’s book highlights the importance of mental toughness in achieving success both on and off the field. As Murphy writes, “As an outfielder in the Chicago Cubs organization, my sense of worth and identity revolved around my performance… When I hit well, I walked tall and felt great. When I hit poorly, my shoulders slumped and my outlook was dark.”

The book has already gained popularity among athletes and non-athletes alike, with its Amazon bestseller list jumping to #1 on Monday afternoon. Brown’s endorsement of the book has contributed to its rapid rise in popularity, with at least one new five-star review praising its impact on mental well-being.

Murphy expressed his gratitude for being part of Brown’s life, saying “It’s really an honor to be a part of his life and to have a meaningful place in anyone’s life.” With the Eagles set to host another playoff game next Sunday, fans can look forward to seeing if Brown will continue to draw inspiration from Murphy’s book.
