Nintendo is reportedly unfazed by the recent leaks of its upcoming Switch 2 console. Former marketing lead Kit Ellis says the company’s long-term plans won’t be affected by short-term internet rumors.
Ellis, who was the director of social media marketing and original content for Nintendo of America, shared his thoughts on the matter in a recent Patreon video. He believes that Nintendo is focused on its long-term plan rather than reacting to current events.
“A lot of this is going to be in the rear-view mirror,” Ellis said, noting that once Nintendo announces the Switch 2 and shares more information, the leaks will become less relevant. Ellis also highlighted the importance of first-party games, which are not being sent to factories in China for mass production.
Although it’s unclear when Nintendo will officially unveil its new console, Ellis suggests that the timing might be influenced by upcoming events like the US President’s Inauguration next week. However, aside from this news event, there are several opportunities for Nintendo to showcase its Switch 2 later this month.
