Nintendo has announced price hikes for its original Switch and some of its accessories, citing market conditions as the reason behind the changes. The US version of the Switch is now priced at $339.99, a $40 increase from its initial launch price in 2017.
Other first-gen models are also seeing price jumps: the Switch OLED has increased by $50 to $399.99, while the Switch Lite’s price rose by $30 to $229.99. The decision comes just after Nintendo implemented similar price increases in Canada and amid a growing list of tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump.
Notably, prices for the Switch 2 console and its games remain unchanged, despite the popularity of the device selling over 6 million units since launch. The increased tariffs on Vietnam, where most Nintendo production is transferred, have also contributed to the price adjustments.
