Nintendo’s next console, rumored to be called the Switch 2, has been the subject of much speculation and leaks. According to recent images shared by Deck Wizard, the new console appears larger than its predecessor, measuring 273 x 118.5 mm.
This increased size would suggest a more substantial design, with noticeable differences from previous models. Notably, the Switch 2 features U-shaped kickstand and will have larger ZL and ZR buttons. However, the console’s weight remains comparable to that of the Steam Deck.
In terms of accessories, the new Joy-Cons will utilize magnetic attachments to the console, while also boasting rear-mounted release buttons for improved convenience. Additionally, battery indicators now display both battery and player status when using compatible peripherals like racing wheels or ergonomic controllers.
Nintendo is reportedly set to officially unveil the Switch 2 next month, potentially ahead of Donkey Kong HD’s January 16 release date. The new console promises capabilities to play ‘modern AAA’ games, aligning with earlier reports on its expected features.
