Nintendo Switch 2 Launch Date Rumored for March 28

Rumors about the launch date of the Nintendo Switch 2 have been circulating for years, but none have provided a clear answer until now. According to Italian website UAGNA, Nintendo Switch 2 accessories will be available on March 28, and this may also be the release date for the console itself.

While this rumor should be taken with caution, it’s not entirely impossible. In fact, another rumor suggested that the console would be revealed in January and released in late March. The timing could be accelerated compared to the original Switch, which was first shown in October 2016 and released in March 2017.

The specifications of the Nintendo Switch 2 have been leaked and are unlikely to have changed. It will feature an eight-core CPU with 12 ARM Cortex-A78AE cores and a GPU based on the Ampere architecture featuring 2048 CUDA Cores. However, if true, the console’s 4K resolution output at 30 frames per second when docked may be disappointing compared to rival consoles from Sony and Microsoft.

Analysts are bullish on the new hardware’s sales prospects, predicting that it could sell 80 million units by 2028. The success of the Switch will depend on the availability of high-quality games, such as Metroid Prime 4, which could potentially launch as a cross-platform title alongside other popular titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
