Nintendo Switch 2 Leaked with AI Upscaling Tech and Spec Sheet

Nintendo’s next-gen console, the Switch 2, has kicked off 2025 with a fresh patent and leaked images that suggest exciting new tech. The patent, filed in July 2023 but published recently, describes AI image upscaling technology to keep video game download sizes small while offering up to 4K textures.

Leaked internal components images match previous leaks and confirm the Switch 2’s design, including a larger screen, magnetic Joy-Cons, and USB-C ports. The alleged specifications list reveals 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, with developers already planning to release their games on the console.

Nintendo has confirmed that the Switch 2 will be backward-compatible with original Switch games and feature Nintendo Switch Online. A release date is expected in April 2025 at the earliest, although no exact date has been announced. The company plans to combat scalping by having plenty of stock available upon launch.
