Rumors and leaks surrounding the Nintendo Switch 2 continue to pile up, with a recent sighting of a potential release date. According to reports, the console’s hardware specifications have been listed on Alibaba and Reddit, sparking excitement among fans and journalists alike.
While it’s impossible to verify the authenticity of these images, the frequency of leaks suggests that the product is gaining traction. This has led many to believe that Nintendo will finally break its silence on the new console before the end of their fiscal year in March 2025.
Speculations about the Switch 2’s hardware have been circulating for years, but some details are now coming to light. The console is expected to be powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra T239, featuring an Ampere-powered GPU and an 8-core ARM Cortex A78 CPU. RAM will increase to 12GB, split into two modules of 6GB each, while storage space will more than double to 256GB.
The inclusion of NVIDIA Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) Super Resolution and Ray Reconstruction technology is also confirmed. However, it’s unclear if Frame Generation support will be included. Despite its potential technical limitations, the Switch 2’s games can be optimized for specific hardware, which could help it punch above its weight in terms of performance.
