The Nintendo Switch 2 has set a new record for fastest-selling Nintendo hardware in the US, according to IGN’s sources. In its first four days on sale, it outsold previous models, with sales being approximately twice that of the original Switch.
Globally, the console reached over 3.5 million units sold, exceeding expectations. The high sales are attributed to abundant stock at launch, a factor Nintendo had promised would meet demand in the US. However, the UK saw lower sales compared to other major consoles.
In Japan, the console’s popularity is so great that parody listings for “Switch 2” – which are actually just light switches – are appearing online. The company projects 15 million global sales by March 31, 2026.
