Nintendo Unveils Switch 2, Reveals Teaser for New Mario Kart and Launch Titles

Nintendo has confirmed its highly anticipated new console, the Switch 2, after months of speculation. The company released a teaser video showcasing a hardware sneak peek and a brief look at the next Mario Kart game.

While details about launch titles are not expected until later this year, Nintendo fan Nate the Hate has shared his speculative list of games that may be included on the Switch 2. The list includes several first-party titles such as new 3D Mario games, Metroid Prime 4, and an enhanced Zelda game, as well as third-party releases from Square Enix, Ubisoft, Microsoft, and more.

The speculation suggests that either a new Mario Kart game or Mario Kart 9 will launch with the console, with the other being saved for a holiday release. IGN has also identified Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Professor Layton and the New World of Steam as safe bets for launch titles.

Nintendo has confirmed that most existing Switch games will be compatible with the Switch 2 and that the new console will support physical cartridges from the original Switch, offering a vast selection of games on day one. Further details are expected to be revealed at an April 2 Nintendo Direct event.
