Nintendo’s Next Console Details Emerge in Leaked Case Designs

Leaks from case manufacturers suggest that Nintendo’s next console, dubbed the Switch 2, may feature several upgrades over its predecessor. The new console appears to be larger and taller than the Switch OLED, but will retain a similar thickness. According to Dbrand CEO Adam Ijaz, the Switch 2 will measure 270mm wide, 116mm tall, and 14mm thick.

The case design features a mysterious second button under the Home button on the right Joy-Con, which Ijaz says has a “C” printed on it. The left Joy-Con still retains a capture button on its side. Ijaz is unsure about the function of this new button but notes that Nintendo’s Switch 2 will be able to play current Switch games and have Nintendo Switch Online.

The console also appears to have an 8-inch screen, as confirmed by Dbrand’s measurements. The kickstand is around half the console’s height, standing at approximately 55mm, and the joysticks are 6.27mm tall. The case maker notes that this could be a potential release date for their new “Killswitch 2” case in late March or early April.

Dbrand has been making headlines by releasing cases with designs that seem to mock Nintendo’s lawyers and have intentionally antagonized the company.
