Nio Inc delivered 13,270 cars in May, a decline of 35.41% year-over-year and 31.13% month-over-month. However, its sub-brand Onvo delivered 6,281 vehicles, up 42.75% from April, while Firefly delivered 3,680 units for the first full month of deliveries.
The Chinese electric vehicle maker’s total deliveries in the first five months of the year reached 89,225 vehicles, a 34.75% increase from last year. Nio Inc’s cumulative deliveries now stand at 760,789 vehicles, with 710,655 coming from its main brand.
The company’s main models, including ES6 and ET5, were updated in May. Deliveries for these two models began on May 20 and May 27, respectively. However, this may have had a negative impact on delivery volumes.
Nio Inc delivered 59,852 vehicles from January to May, a decrease of 9.61% year-over-year. Onvo’s deliveries were 25,462 units, while Firefly has cumulatively delivered 3,911 vehicles since its first month of deliveries in April.
The company plans to launch a new flagship SUV, the ES9, in the first half of 2026. The updated ES8 is expected to be launched between August and September.
Nio’s best-selling models are ES6, ET5, and ET7, with combined delivery numbers of 180,038 units in 2024. Firefly currently only has one model, the L60, which was launched in April.
