No. 3 Texas Extends Winning Streak to 9 Games with 67-49 Win over Kentucky

No. 3 Texas extended its winning streak to nine games with a 67-49 victory over eighth-ranked Kentucky on Thursday night. Kayla Oldacre and Madison Booker scored 19 points apiece to lead the Longhorns to the win.

The Longhorns dominated inside, scoring 42 points in the paint and outrebounding Kentucky 45-28. Taylor Jones added 15 points for Texas, while Georgia Amoore led Kentucky with 14 points.

Texas’s strong performance was highlighted by its ability to capitalize on second-chance opportunities, finishing with 21 second-chase points. The Longhorns also committed only 17 turnovers, scoring 20 points off Kentucky’s miscues.

The win marked the Longhorns’ best start since the 2015-16 season and further solidified their position in the Southeastern Conference standings. With a 25-2 record, Texas remains one of the top teams in the country.

Both teams will be back in action on Sunday, with Kentucky hosting Georgia and Texas hosting No. 5 LSU.
