No. 4 Clemson defeated California 6-4 at Stu Gordon Stadium on Friday night, taking a 1-0 lead in the series. Dominic Listi hit two home runs to help the Tigers secure the win.
The game was tied 2-2 until the seventh inning when Listi hit a go-ahead double, scoring two runs and giving Clemson a 3-2 lead. Jarren Purify followed with a run-scoring double, and Josh Paino’s single in the eighth inning sealed the victory for the Tigers.
Aidan Knaak pitched 7.1 innings to earn his fifth win of the season, allowing five hits and four runs. Lucas Mahlstedt closed out the game with his 10th save of the year.
