The movie received mixed reviews from critics, with an 82% certified fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes and audiences giving it 92%. Despite the glowing reviews, some argue that the high Cinemascore ratings are paid off by studios to make every movie seem amazing. However, the director of Weapons has been praised for its solid structure and balance between scary and funny elements.
