Lando Norris secured pole position for the Belgian Grand Prix, edging out teammate Oscar Piastri and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc. Norris’ impressive lap time of 1m 40.562s proved unbeatable, with Piastri finishing just 0.085 seconds behind in second place.
Norris began Q3 by taking provisional pole, but initially looked set to lose it to Piastri. However, the McLaren driver stayed focused and improved his lap to seal the top spot. Leclerc finished third, ahead of Mercedes’ George Russell in sixth.
The session saw strong performances from several drivers, including Alexander Albon in fifth for Williams and Red Bull’s Yuki Tsunoda in seventh. The Racing Bulls pair of Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson took eighth and ninth respectively, while Kick Sauber’s Gabriel Bortoleto completed the top 10.
Despite a challenging session, Norris remained confident and expressed his happiness with securing pole position. His team’s struggles earlier in the season seem to be behind him, as he aims to get back on track for McLaren.
