Smartphone startup Nothing will launch its new flagship model, the Phone (3), next month in London, but it won’t be sold through its website and Amazon in the United States initially. This marks a significant shift for the company, which has released eight phones since 2020 but only one, the Phone (2), has been made available for general sale in the US.
Nothing CEO Carl Pei says the phone is not just another launch, but a signal of where the company is as a whole. He believes that by focusing on differentiating design and differentiating itself from Apple, Samsung, and Google, Nothing can attract users looking for alternatives to established brands.
The Phone (3) will support major carriers in the US, including AT&T and T-Mobile, with 4G and 5G multi-band compatibility. In Canada, it will be sold through Best Buy retail channels for the first time.
Pricing for the phone is expected to be around $1,000 in the US, putting it in direct competition with premium devices like the iPhone 16 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S25+. Despite its significant investment, Nothing faces an uphill climb in the North American market, which is dominated by two players.
