Nothing has released a new YouTube video comparing the camera performance of its upcoming phone, the Nothing Phone 3A, to that of the latest iPhone 16 Pro Max. The video focuses on the 50MP periscope camera in the Nothing Phone 3A, which offers 3X optical zoom and up to 60x “ultra zoom” for macro photography.
In comparison, the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s tetraprism camera has 5X optical zoom, 25x digital zoom, and a 120mm focal length. The Nothing Phone 3A’s periscope camera uses AI tone-mapping and scene detection to enhance images. According to the company, its 50MP main camera can gather 64% more light than the 2MP main camera in the previous model, resulting in a 300% greater full well capacity.
The comparisons were made using outdoor photos of graffiti, food, and buildings. The video also showcases the Ultra HDR support on all four cameras and the ability to record at 4K video with night photography enhancements.
