Nothing to Localize Production of Flagship Smartphone Phone (3) in India

London-based tech firm Nothing has announced plans to manufacture its upcoming flagship smartphone, Phone (3), in India. This move marks a significant step in the company’s growth strategy, as it aligns with India’s “Make in India” initiative and deepens its commitment to the country.

Nothing’s dedicated facility in Chennai will produce the phone, where over 500 staff are employed. Localized production is expected to improve operational efficiency, reduce supply chain latency, and enable faster market response. The company aims to invest heavily in manufacturing, innovation, and local talent.

Co-Founder Akis Evangelidis stated that every smartphone Nothing has released has been manufactured in India, emphasizing the brand’s long-term vision for the country. The company is expanding its service infrastructure, with 5 exclusive centers, 20 priority desks, and over 330 authorized service centers across the country.

Nothing has shipped over 10 million devices globally since its founding in 2020, with cumulative revenue exceeding $1 billion. The brand is building a differentiated ecosystem through its sub-brands, focusing on sustainability and community-driven product development.

By localizing production, Nothing reinforces its confidence in India’s market, infrastructure, and talent pool. This move strengthens the company’s competitive position while showcasing its blend of global design leadership with local execution excellence, paving the way for future growth.
