The win marked the ninth straight for Notre Dame, but it wasn’t without its challenges. The absence of AP Preseason All-American guard Hannah Hidalgo due to a foot injury was felt, as did some jitters in the final quarter when Clemson threatened to mount an upset. However, King and the Irish rallied behind 19 assists, outrebounded their opponents 40-35, and showcased championship-caliber mettle.
Clemson put up a spirited effort, but ultimately fell short due to subpar shooting from beyond the arc (20% in the fourth quarter). Liatu King’s clutch scoring and rebounding helped seal the win for Notre Dame. The Irish will look to extend their winning streak against No. 13 Georgia Tech on Thursday night, while Clemson faces a tough test of its own at Georgia Tech.
