Notre Dame Falls Short Against Louisville, 75-60

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish lost to the Louisville Cardinals at home, 75-60. Despite a strong performance from guard Markus Burton, who scored 22 points, the team couldn’t overcome its struggles in other areas.

Notre Dame led early and held a narrow lead after halftime, but the Cardinals slowly pulled away with the help of Chucky Hepburn’s three-pointer and Terrence Howard Jr.’s clutch shot. The Irish kept it close for much of the game, but ultimately fell behind by as many as 18 points in the second half.

Burton had a impressive individual performance, shooting 8-of-18 from the field and adding four assists, but also turned over the ball six times. Tae Davis scored 15 points, while Braeden Shrewsberry added 12.

Notre Dame will look to bounce back on Wednesday when it hosts SMU in South Bend.
