Nvidia and AI Chip Space Set to Shine at CES 2025

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will deliver a keynote address on Monday night at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025, setting the stage for excitement in the artificial intelligence (AI) chip space. The event is expected to focus on AI processors for PCs and might introduce new announcements about Nvidia’s own GTC conference in March.

Nvidia stock has been making waves, jumping 5.4% last week with a strong buy signal. Shares broke above the 50-day line decisively, topped the December 24 high of 141.90, and cleared a trendline. The relative strength line is gaining momentum as Nvidia bucked the recent downward market trend.

Taiwan Semiconductor, another major player in the AI chip space, has been on fire, with shares rallying 3.5% last week to $208.60. The company will report December sales and fourth-quarter earnings in early January, which could be important for its investors.

While Nvidia’s speech might boost the AI chip space, it also could redirect momentum away from custom AI chipmakers Broadcom and Marvell Technology. However, since Taiwan Semiconductor makes chips for both of these companies, it should benefit regardless of who leads the AI chip race.

Investors should keep an eye on other developments from CES 2025, including Nvidia’s GTC conference in March, as well as the release of the December jobs report and Taiwan Semi sales next week.
