Nvidia Announces Mainstream RTX 5060 Series with GDDR7 Memory

Nvidia is launching its GeForce RTX 50-series graphics cards today, adding three new GPUs to the mainstream lineup: the RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060 models. The RTX 5060 Ti will be available on April 16 in both 8GB and 16GB variations, priced at $379 and $429 respectively. The RTX 5060 is expected to follow in May with a similar $299 MSRP.

The new graphics cards are built around GDDR7 memory, which provides improved memory bandwidth and may help alleviate performance issues seen in the last-generation 4060 models. However, this upgrade comes at the cost of increased peak power consumption.

The RTX 5060 Ti will have 4608 CUDA cores, a 128-bit memory interface, and 180W TGP. In comparison to its predecessor, the RTX 4060 Ti, it boasts improved memory bandwidth and a higher boost clock speed. The new RTX 5060 model is expected to feature similar specs to the last-generation RTX 4060.

Nvidia’s xx60 tier has historically been its most popular range, accounting for seven of Steam’s top 10 most-used GPUs. As such, the new RTX 5060 series is an important benchmark for PC gaming performance.
