Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang downplayed the negative impact of President Donald Trump’s tariffs on the company’s manufacturing plans in the US. Despite tariffs being imposed on Washington’s three biggest trading partners, including China, Huawei, and Mexico, Huang expressed enthusiasm about building in America. He noted that partners such as TSMC, Foxconn, and Wistron are working with Nvidia to bring manufacturing onshore, making long-term manufacturing onshore “very possible”. The move comes after shares of Nvidia fell over 20% from their record high due to concerns sparked by Chinese artificial intelligence lab DeepSeek. However, Huang has pushed back on the theory that DeepSeek’s popularized reasoning models require more chips, saying they need additional processing power instead.
