Nvidia, Cisco and Others Partner for UAE’s Massive AI Data Center

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is set to launch a massive artificial intelligence data center called “UAE Stargate”, with US tech giants Nvidia, Cisco, Oracle, and OpenAI on board. The data center will collaborate with the AI infrastructure project of the same name in the US, announced by President Donald Trump earlier this year.

Built in Abu Dhabi, the UAE Stargate campus will have a capacity of 5 gigawatts over 10 square miles. Initially, it will feature a 1-gigawatt compute cluster as part of its first phase. The project aims to bring together AI and technology giants for the development of this massive data center.

Key players such as Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son, and Cisco President Jeetu Patel were also present in the UAE for their respective state visits. However, none of these companies have commented on the partnership yet.

The US Commerce Department has announced that G42, an Emirati firm, will build the massive campus. OpenAI had previously stated its intention to construct data center campuses across 16 US states with demonstrated interest in the project. Construction on the data center in Texas is currently underway, and completion is expected by mid-2026.
