Nvidia Delays “Blackwell” B200 AI Chip Production

Nvidia has informed Microsoft and at least one other cloud provider that its Blackwell B200 AI chips will take three months longer to produce than planned due to a design flaw discovered late in the production process. The B200 is the successor to the highly sought-after H100 chip, which powers vast areas of the artificial intelligence cloud landscape. Nvidia expects production to ramp up in the second half of the year and won’t ship large numbers until the first quarter. Microsoft, Google, and Meta have ordered tens of billions of dollars’ worth of the chips.
