Nvidia has released its latest GeForce driver update, bringing significant improvements to more than just the latest generation of GPUs. The new 572.16 driver enables DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation in 75 games compatible with RTX 50-series cards, while also giving enhanced DLSS frame generation for RTX 40-series cards.
The update also introduces changes to Blackwell’s approach to frame generation, allowing for lower VRAM use and faster execution, along with flip metering. This results in a smoother gaming experience. Additionally, older-gen gamers will benefit from enhanced ray reconstruction, super resolution (in beta), and DLAA (also in beta) on 30-series and 20-series GPUs.
The new driver update also includes improvements to Video Super Resolution (VSR), upscales videos with up to 30% fewer GPU resources at its highest quality setting. Furthermore, RTX 50-series owners will have access to ‘Smooth Motion’, a driver-based frame interpolation that adds a generated frame between frames just like the first generation of Frame Generation.
The update can be accessed by selecting a compatible DirectX 11 or DirectX 12 game in Graphics > Program settings and switching Smooth Motion on.
