NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 GPUs Offer Significant Performance Uplifts

NVIDIA has confirmed the native Real-Time (RT) uplifts for its upcoming GeForce RTX 50 GPUs, which include significant performance gains for those using DLSS 4. According to the company’s latest statements at CES 2025, only with DLSS 4, the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 deliver impressive 2x performance boosts compared to their predecessors.

The new GeForce RTX 50 lineup consists of four GPUs: the high-end RTX 5090, mid-range RTX 5080, and two lower-end models, the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070. For native RT gaming without DLSS, these cards offer varying performance gains. The top-of-the-line RTX 5090 offers a 30% uplift, while the RTX 5080 provides a more modest 15% gain.

While these figures may seem relatively modest compared to the massive gains seen in previous generations, the inclusion of new technologies such as DLSS 4, Neural Rendering, and Neural Shading should provide significant advantages for gamers. Additionally, the lower-end models are designed specifically for native 1440p gaming.

In terms of specifications, the RTX 5090 boasts an impressive 32 GB memory capacity, making it well-suited for high-resolution content creators and serious gamers. The RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti also offer respectable memory capacities, while the RTX 5070 aims to cater to the mainstream high-end segment.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 GPUs are set to launch in January and February 2025, respectively, with prices starting at $1999 for the top-of-the-line model and $549 for the more affordable option.
