NVIDIA has launched its new Vera CPU, designed specifically for agentic AI and reinforcement learning applications. The Vera CPU delivers twice the efficiency and 50% faster performance compared to traditional CPUs.
Several major companies, including Alibaba Cloud, ByteDance, Meta, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Dell Technologies, HPE, Lenovo, and Supermicro, are already collaborating with NVIDIA to deploy Vera CPUs in their data centers.
The new Vera rack integrates 256 liquid-cooled Vera CPUs and is built using the NVIDIA MGX modular reference architecture. The system features high-performance, energy-efficient CPU cores, a high-bandwidth memory subsystem, and the second-generation Scalable Coherency Fabric.
Key benefits of the Vera CPU include:
* Higher AI throughput and responsiveness
* Improved energy efficiency compared to traditional CPUs
* Enhanced performance for large-scale AI services
Leading companies such as Cursor and Redpanda are already adopting NVIDIA Vera to boost performance for their AI coding agents and streaming data platforms, respectively. National laboratories and cloud service providers are also planning to deploy the Vera CPU in their systems.
NVIDIA has made the Vera CPU available in full production, with availability expected in the second half of this year.
