Nvidia Plans $400 Billion US Chip Manufacturing Boost Over Four Years

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has announced that the company will procure “several hundred billion” dollars’ worth of chips and electronics manufactured in the US over the next four years, aiming to reduce reliance on Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and minimize tariffs. By investing in domestic manufacturing, Nvidia hopes to enhance supply chain resilience.

This move comes as other tech giants like Apple are increasing their investment in the US. Apple plans to invest more than $500 billion in the country over the next four years, with a focus on artificial intelligence and data centers.

TSMC has also announced plans to expand its investment in advanced semiconductor manufacturing in the US by an additional $100 billion, bringing its total investment to $165 billion. This expansion will support 40,000 construction jobs and create tens of thousands of tech jobs over the next four years.

Stablecoin issuer Tether is reportedly exploring an audit of its reserves with a Big Four accounting firm, following President Trump’s pledge to be a “crypto president.” The company holds dollar-denominated reserves for every token it creates and has issued more than $140 billion worth of stablecoins.
