NVIDIA has revealed that their RTX GPUs power the iconic Vegas sphere, a major attraction in Las Vegas covering nearly 750,000 square feet. The sphere features 150 RTX A6000 GPUs with over 10K cores, 48 GB of memory, and a 300W TDP, totaling 1,612,800 cores, 72,000 GB of GDDR6 memory, and 45,000W of power consumption.
The sphere uses programmable LEDs to display various effects, including a smiley that monitors traffic. It is powered by NVIDIA’s RTX GPUs and state-of-the-art connectivity technologies like BlueField DPUs and ConnectX-6 Dx NICs, along with software technologies such as DOCA Firefly Service and NVIDIA Rivermax Software.
The sphere hosts original experiences, concerts, and events, and has been named one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2023.
