Nvidia Sees China as $50 Billion Opportunity Amid Revenue Disappointment

Nvidia’s second-quarter earnings report fell short of expectations, with quarterly data-center sales missing estimates. Despite this, the company remains optimistic about its growth prospects in China. CEO Jensen Huang stated that the “opportunity ahead is still immense.” The company removed China data center revenue from its outlook, citing geopolitical issues.

However, Nvidia sees significant potential for H20 chip sales to China, with $5 billion in possible revenue for the current quarter. For sovereign AI-related revenue, the company aims to generate up to $20 billion this year. The addition of $60 billion to its share buyback plan indicates a commitment to returning value to shareholders.

Despite the mixed earnings report, Nvidia’s CEO remains confident in the company’s ability to navigate geopolitical challenges and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
