Nvidia’s stock price dropped 1.76% on Monday ahead of CEO Jensen Huang’s keynote address at the GPU Technology Conference (GTC). The company’s shares closed at $119.53, down 11% from the start of the year.
Huang is expected to unveil new artificial intelligence chips, including the Blackwell Ultra AI chip and next-generation platform Vera Rubin. Analysts predict that Nvidia will focus on inferencing for reasoning models, a key area of research being pursued by companies like OpenAI and Google.
Other tech analysts also provided insights into what’s expected at GTC. Jefferies predicted that CPO technology will be discussed, with executives from quantum computing firms joining Huang to discuss the future of quantum computing.
Meanwhile, stocks in the quantum computing sector gained ground on Monday ahead of the conference’s “Quantum Day” event. Quantum Computing shares rose 13.12%, while D-Wave saw a 10.15% gain. Executives from IonQ and Rigetti Computing will also participate in the GTC to share their perspectives on the future of quantum computing.
